Golden Spirit is owned and operated by Joe Sienkiewicz and Nancy Nuner, who are captain and chef/first mate, respectively. Both hold USCG licenses of Master to 100 tons. With over 25 years' combined experience, much of it gained in the BVI, you will be cruising with a knowledgeable, safe and effective team. Nancy and Joe truly love their work: sharing the beauty of the islands with guests, serving exotic boat drinks and preparing great meals for a fabulous al fresco dining experience. Before moving to Tortola BVI in 1986, Joe owned an auto body shop in New Hampshire specializing in rebuilding sports cars. His extensive experience with fiberglass, painting and mechanical repair, along with navigational skills learned as a commercial cargo pilot and recreational boater, make him an excellent skipper, capable of handling virtually any situation on the water. He has worked as captain for most of the charter companies in the BVI, operating both motor and sailing vessels. Joe is well-known for his tall tales about life in the tropics and is an avid scuba diver and grill master. In 1995, Nancy moved to Tortola from New York, where she formerly worked as an international banker. She previously enjoyed many vacations in the BVI, sailing and diving around the islands. When the Caribbean beckoned, she honed her love for cooking and entertaining to professional standards at Peter Kump's New York Cooking School, then worked for a time in a Manhattan restaurant. She speaks fluent French and Spanish, plus a bit of Italian, much appreciated by the growing number of international charter guests headed for the BVI. |
